Art Inspired Non-pierced Teardrop Earrings

From David Howell & Company, these 1 and 1/2 inches (38mm) long non-pierced earrings are inspired by works of decorative art. Both hang from flat simple clips and the teardrops backs are coated with a solid color. On the left the inspiration for the Clematis flowers in shades of blue and green is leaded glass lamps from the studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany; its back is royal blue and the clip silver-plated. On the right the inspiration for the Poppies was a 19th century Arts & Crafts wooden box by Lucia K. Matthews; its back is red-orange and its clip is gold-plated. Made entirely in the USA.
Background notes: Tiffany (1848-1933) is celebrated today as one of the most influential designers of the late 19th and early 20th century. In reaction to the industrial age, the followers of the Arts & Crafts movement, including Californians Arthur Mathews (1850-1945) and his wife Lucia Mathews (1870-1955), sought-out the had-made productions of the past.
