Butterfly Wing Sterling Clip-on Drop Earrings

The island of Madagascar is the home of the Sunset Moth Butterfly, famous worldwide for their colorful iridescent wings. The colors come not from pigments, but from optical interference, a phenomenon of physics. These rhodium-plated over .925 sterling silver earrings are set with pieces of Sunset Moth wings that were harvested after the butterfly died a natural death.
