Our newest designers are:
Mother and daughter Margaret and Myoshin Thurman are the design team of Echo of the Dreamer. Their hand-made, truly one-of-a-kind jewelry is modern and feminine, yet rich and sophisticated. They often use exotic stones which Margaret refers to as "art by God."
California native, Kathleen Maley, who studied metalsmithing at San Diego State University earning a degree in Applied Design, has been making jewelry and art objects in San Francisco for over 15 years. She creates each piece individually using a mallet and mandrels to form the metal, then a variety of steel stamps, hammers and brushes to create designs and textures. Her sculptural jewelry highlights the contrast between sterling silver and high karat gold vermeil with a sense of liveliness and whimsy.
The jewelry Barb Sipher is currently creating in her Columbus, Ohio studio is made of recycled roofing copper she finds at metal scrap yards. The tar residue left on the copper creates
unusual and interesting surfaces. Barb hand cuts each piece of copper so that no two shapes are ever the same. She applies enamel on both sides of the copper using both torch and kiln firing techniques.
