Irregular diamond-shaped gemstone 'pillows' in your choice of Agate (left) or Rutilated Quartz (right) are layered into a drop that hangs from a simple ball and loop clip - gold-plated for the agate; silver-plated for the Quartz - a matching metal bead finishes the drop. Agate is a banded colored stone found in nodular masses associated with volcanic lavas. Being porous, it is often dyed or stained in bright colors. And because it is porous, each of the dyed stones has its own unique color pattern. Rutilated quartz is clear Quartz with thin needle like unique inclusions of Rutile - a mineral that is made up mostly of titanium dioxide that comes various colors, but in these earrings black.
