Yes, the stones in these 2 and 9/16 inches (65mm) long non-pierced earrings are genuine Baltic Amber. Two factors determine the color of Amber - the tree source and the air bubble inclusions that refract the light shining thru. As far back as the 1st century "cloudy" Amber was clarified by boiling it in pig fat which flatten the bubbles and left the Amber transparent. Today's heat enhancing produces the same result but the procedures are more sophisticated. These 2-tone ivy-shaped leaves have been slowly heated to transparency and half of each leaf has been carefully burned and the entire leaf patiently hand polished. Look carefully and you will see small inclusions of plant matter. Strung with black jeweler's wire and handmade in Poland, these works of art hang from a hematite plated simple clip and will have the slight variations that are the hallmarks of natural stones and handcraft.
