Fused Dichroic Glass Clip-on Drop Earrings

The fused dichroic glass drops in these non-pierced earrings are stunning! The drops are handmade by vaporizing silica and metal oxides - chromium, silicon, titanium, aluminum, magnesium & zirconium each producing its own color - in a vacuum chamber and letting them condense on thin layers of glass. Multiple layers are then fused together under extreme heat and covered by a protective layer of clear quartz. As light waves strike the dichroic, some are reflected and others shine thru generating a shimmering array of changing colors. Each drop - basically a 13/16 inch (21mm) long rectangle with curved edges - is one-of-a-kind with your choice of: Left, the colors are bright oranges against a very dark red background, the metal is gold-plate; Right, the colors are pastels against a clear background, the metal is silver-plate. The overall length of both is approximately 1 and 5/16 inches (34mm). Dazzling art with shine that blurs their picture!
