Idocrase Clip-on Delicate Drop Earrings

These delicate, intricate non-pierced gemstone earrings are the creation of designer Chipita Eagle. Hanging from a ball and loop clip the drop - fashioned with sterling silver jeweler's wire - begins with a wee faceted Amethyst atop a gold filled rondelle followed by 3 intricate filigree ovals - 2 of oxidized silver wire and 1 gold filled wire - that add interest as they shift with the drop's motion. Next is a wee faceted Citrine atop another gold rondelle with a 12mm (about 1/2 inch) faceted Idocrase teardrop anchoring the drop and bringing the earring's overall length to 1 and 13/16 inches (46mm). Idocrase is a rare gemstone, usually found in shades of green. It is not only rare, but pale transparent specimens that can be faceted, like the ones in these earrings, count as very rare indeed.
