Jade and Rhodochrosite Clip-on Drop Earrings

The Jade in these long non-pierced earrings is Jadeite from Myanmar (Burma). "Burma Jade" it has incredible toughness and is prized in the Far East for carving. Designer Heather Outlaw combined a 14mm (about 1/2 inch) ball of the semi-precious gemstone Rhodochrosite with a 15mm (about 5/8 inch) long oval of carved Jade, joined together by silver beads and caps. Hung from a simple clip, their overall length is 1 and 7/8 inches.
Gemstone info: With a name derived from the Greek words rhodon ("pink") and chros ("color"), Rhodochrosite, a uniquely marbled stone, is a dance of various shades of pink, ranging from very light to deep raspberry with a banded pattern from various white and gray minerals.
