Maple Leaf Clip-On Earrings

These non-pierced earrings were inspired by the botanical wood cut prints of 19th century artist Kose Shoseki, an influential artist who perpetuated the Japanese tradition of flower painting. David Howell has taken the Japanese Maple leaf and brought it to life in these gypsy hoop drop earrings. The earrings show the fleeting hues the leaf bears in summer and autumn. The drop, which has a diameter of 1 and 1/4 inches (32mm), hangs from a simple clip with a flat front for an overall length of 1 and 11/16 inches (43mm).
