Michal's Large Aventurine Clip-on Button Earrings

When Israeli-born designer Michal Golan crafts a non-pierced button earring, there is nothing clich about it. Beginning with a 1 and 1/16 inches (28mm) high and 1 inch (25mm) wide gold electro-plated oval that's center is painted with silver enamel for a bit of shine, she layers it with design elements. A bezel setting 14x10mm (approximately 9/16 by 3/8 inch) oval cabochon of Green Aventurine is set lengthwise on the earring's center. 6 golden ribbed triangles radiate from it ending with a ball that extends over the ovals edge. A bead of red or green Aventurine or Peridot sits between the triangles. The paddle back clip has gripper sleeves for comfort and secure wearing. An opulent creation that is big enough to really showcase its beauty.
Gemstone Notes: Aventurine is a form of chalcedony (quartz) that contains small inclusions of various shiny minerals - usually spangles of mica or iron oxide - giving it a glistening effect known as aventurescence. The most common natural colors are reddish brown or yellow, and more rarely green. Michal's are green with reddish brown inclusions.
