Orange Banded Agate Clip-on Drop Earrings

As far back as 3000 BC, Agate was one of the first known gemstones worn as talismans. A strong example of the enthusiasm for agate is the collection of Mithridates, king of Pontus, in what is now Turkey, who had a collection of 2000 to 4000 agate bowls. 1 and 7/16 inches (37mm) long, these orange Banded Agate non-pierced drops have a 4mm round Onyx bead on top of a golden double rondelle which is duplicated at the 1/2 inch (13mm) long oval Agate bead's end. The whole earring hangs from a simple clip on top and is lightweight.
