Tile Inspired Non-pierced Dangle Earrings

Designed and made in the USA by David Howell and Company, these clip-on Sterling Silver plated earrings are inspired by tiles found in homes in the Netherlands as far back as the 1600's. On the left, the cut out drop - 1 and 1/4 inches (32mm) high and wide - is based on the tiles found in the kitchen of Rembrandt's home in Amsterdam. Made in the Dutch quadrate (diamond) style in 1630, the earring has a large floral arrangement in a vase with blue and green enamel accents and an overall length of 1 and 13/16 inches (46mm). The round cut out drop on the right - diameter a bit more than 1 and 1/16 inches (28mm) - represents many Delft tiles reflecting the 'tulip mania' that spread thru the Netherlands after tulips were brought into the region around 1550. Red, green and blue enamel highlight the earring's drop for an overall length a bit more than 1 and 5/8 inches (42mm). Because of their high shine, the picture does not do justice to these stunning earrings!
