From Sajen Jewelry comes this beautiful sterling silver non-pierced earring from the collaboration of designers Richard & Marianna Jacobs, the highly skilled Balinese artisans who handcraft each piece, and Mother Nature who creates the semi-precious gemstones. The gemstone is a half ball - diameter 9/16 inch (14mm) - of Pietersite bezel banded and centered on a sterling silver disk diameter - 1 inch (26mm) - with 19 small balls for texture. The earring has a paddle back clip and is stamped Sajen. Each stone has unique color patterns in shades of dark browns with flashes of red, gold, blue and green (the range shown in image). Pairs are matched as closely as possible.
Gemstone information: Pietersite - discovered in 1962 on farmland in Namibia, South Africa is a beautiful variety of Tigereye formed by the process of natural brecciation. In this process fibers of the gemstones Hawkeye, the blue variety of Tigereye, and Tigereye itself are broken down by the Earth's geological processes, stirred up, then the tiny sharp-angled fragments of stone are essentially glued together by silica (impure forms of quartz).
