Sodalite, Fluorite & Silver Linear Clip-on Earrings

This 2 and 11/16 inches (68mm) long non-pierced earring features a 3-dimensional silver butterfly flitting among semi precious gemstones. Hanging from a simple clip, the butterfly sits between 2 ovals of Flourite, a purple mineral with fluorescent inclusions, that is used to remove impurities in the making of steel. The drop is anchored by an oval of Sodalite, a blue gemstone that is a scarce mineral named after its sodium content (the white streaks). Handmade in the US by designer Heather Outlaw, the Sodalite stones (natural, no two alike) have been paired to matched as closely as possible. The image shows the range of the stones, not a pair.)
