The basic shape of a gypsy hoop fashioned in a shimmering disc of natural nacre harvested from inside the shell of a mollusk, dyed an intense bright color then hung from a rhodium-plated hinged screwback clip is all that is needed to make a spectacular non-pierced earring. The hoop's diameter is 2 inches (50mm) and the earring's overall earring length is 2 and 13/16 inches (71mm). These are made of fairly thick shell, so they are not light, but perfect for those who are always worrying about whether their earrings are still on.
